Milford Sound

This UNESCO world heritage site is a true bucket list destination. Located within the stunning Fiordland National Park, this is one out of the way destination that is well worth going to.

Budget Options:

Barnyard Backpackers:

These log cabin units are situated on a 50-acre deer farm between Te Anau and Manapouri, within easy reach of Fiordland National Park and Milford Sound.

Their claim of “serenity in a rustic setting” couldn’t be more spot on, with a sense of being far removed from the world while being at one with nature.

Choose from a variety of rooms, from dorms, to twin shares, to private or single. You’ll never want to visit a city again!

Luxury Accommodation:

Milford Sound Lodge:

As the only accommodation provider in Milford Sound itself, this is by far the best option for people of any budget, with facilities ranging from to powered campervan sites, to Premium Riverside Chalets.

In peak tourist months, you’ll have to book your chalets in advance, but at the moment, there is more chance of being able to grab a luxurious room with less notice. To be sure, we would still recommend booking advance in order to make the most of this beautifully-designed riverside chalet.
