Rotorua Museum of Art and History is housed in the historic Bath House building, located in the Government Gardens. Rotorua Museum is located only minutes from major accommodation providers, transport depots and the city convention venues. Rotorua Museum is the guardian of a building holding the highest classification under the New Zealand Historic Places Act. As a storehouse of the community’s treasures, the museum is responsible for several important collections. Taonga Maori Collection Significant treasures of the Arawa people, original inhabitants of the Rotorua region. Fine Arts Collection View important images of New Zealand, historic and contemporary artworks, sculpture, ceramics and craft. Photographic Collection Rotorua Museum has over 70,000 images depicting Rotorua’s rich past. Social History Collection Items relating to the Rotorua area since European settlement, including a unique collection of souvenir ware. Rotorua Museum has great value family rates which include guided tours, cinema experiences, the viewing platform and all our exhibitions. To enjoy your Rotorua Museum visit you will need to allow at least 1 ½ hours. If you want to see everything we have to offer you should allow at least 2 hours. Guided tours take approximately 1 hour and are included in your admission fee. In addition to a guided tour you should ensure you allow time to view our cinema experiences.
