Discerning travellers from all over the world appreciate the distinctive architecture and relaxed ambience of Awaroa Lodge. Discover a perfect balance of natural comfort and contemporary style, welcoming hospitality and creative & organic cuisine. At the quiet northern end of Abel Tasman National Park, Awaroa Lodge is the perfect vantage point to explore the famous Abel Tasman Coastal Track - the most beautiful of all New Zealand's 'Great Walks'. Every journey is unique from paddling the coastline by sea kayak to walking through native forests and across vast coastal inlets to secluded bays of golden sands and turquoise waters. The restaurant and cafe is an integral part of the Awaroa experience. Savour the smell of freshly baked breads from our baker’s oven. Enjoy the freshness of our seasonal vegetables and herbs handpicked from our organic garden and delivered to your table. Designed by architect Ian Athfield with the environment and location in mind, our 12 superior suites are situated overlooking the wetland area or native bush. Each suite has a comfortable king size bed, suitable for 2 people. There is also the option for twin beds as well. Each superior room has a comfortable fold out sofa bed to sleep a child or junior adult. All rooms have ensuite shower facilities, private outdoor decks, tea & coffee making facilities and a small fridge. Our standard rooms are situated in a secluded native bush area. There are 10 standard rooms with either a king/twin or 1 queen and 1 single bed suitable for 2 or 3 persons. Our standard rooms have ensuite bathrooms, outdoor deck area, tea & coffee making facilities and a small fridge. Family rooms have 2 queen and 2 single beds. The room is open plan with a mezzanine floor. Artistic use of natural materials gives these rooms a unique style. Spacious and comfortable with lounge seating, outdoor deck seating. Each room has ensuite bathroom, tea & coffee making facilities and a small fridge. Our environmental strategy has been formed with the location around us in mind. The environment in which we are situated commands respect and require us to be mindful of it in everything we do. It has shaped the way that we do business. We believe that we are creating an innovative business practice that is a clear example of how profitability and sustainable practice can work together hand in hand. These two concepts are not opposing extremes of the same scale but require consideration of both to ensure our success in the way that we measure it. The Awaroa Experience is an intrinsic New Zealand Experience. Travel Guide New Zealand proudly presents this listing to you.
